We would like to thank everyone who came out to celebrate our 50 years in Newton on Saturday. Our hearts are full after spending the afternoon with customers, community members, present employees, and former scoopers. It was great to hear so many fond memories and to enjoy ice cream together.
Thank you to Mayor Ruthanne Fuller for attending and presenting us with a proclamation. June 15, 2019 was officially named Cabot's Ice Cream Day in the City of Newton.
Thank you to Howard Sholkin from Newton Community Pride for acknowledging our commitment to Newton with a special plaque.
Thank you to Senator Cynthia Stone Creem for presenting us with a State Senate Official Citation.
Thank you to the Newton Police and Fire departments for your service to our city, and for bringing a police cruiser and fire engine for children to explore.
Thank you Bruce Wilson for some photos.
Thank you to our three nonprofits in attendance Whom will benefit from the days generous donations — Newton Athletes Unlimited, The John M. Barry Boys & Girls Club of Newton, and the Second Step — for all the important work they do for our local community.
Thank you to Flippo the Clown, Darryn Carroll at Bay State Photobooth, MetroWest Face Painting, Vocal Revolutions Chorus, Bruce Wilson Photography, and Signal Graphics for filling our day with entertainment and photographs.
Thank you to our customers, many of whom have been coming to Cabot's for decades with their families. We loved reconnecting with many familiar faces. Your support and loyalty have kept us scooping in Newton for 50 years.
Thank you to all of our employees - past and present. You are the reason that we have been able to serve our community for 50 years. You represent us and have become an extension of our family. We deeply appreciate your dedication and hard work.
Lastly, thank you to Catherine and Joseph E. Prestejohn (aka Mr. and Mrs. Cabot) for starting it all in 1969. They were definitely smiling down on us this weekend and sent the sunny weather our way.
